Lloyd’s Register is the world’s leading organisation for the classification of ships. Lloyd’s Register is an independent inspection institute recognised by governments worldwide. In the shipping sector, insurance companies often require Lloyd’s classification for all electronic equipment on board.

Last year our LXCOS regulator was tested comprehensively by a Lloyd’s team. The tests involved, for instance, checking of all regulation functionalities such as parallel operation and power factor regulation, but also safety functions such as underspeed, overvoltage, overcurrent, overexcitation and overtemperature protection were tested thoroughly. In order to receive a Lloyd’s certificate, the regulator must continue to operate flawlessly even under conditions of extreme shocks, vibrations, heat and cold. Our EMRI LXCOS regulator has successfully passed all these tests. Therefore, the fact that our EMRO regulators are of the highest quality has now been confirmed officially by this certificate.

The LXCOS is a digital voltage regulator and therefore offers optimal flexibility and adjustability, which is reflected in the additional capabilities of the LXCOS. Nevertheless, installation, maintenance and operation of the voltage regulator requires no special software.

Compared to the original Cosimat N, the LXCOS has the following advantages:

– very attractive price
– same mounting points as the Cosimat N+
– easy to install, connect and commission
– more features than the AvK Cosimat N+
– integrated modules (QPF, ER1 and SR2)
– double life expectancy
– robust and more resistant to vibrations

Next to the advantage above, the LXCOS has the following selectable modes of operation:

– Volt per Hertz control
– Constant voltage control
– Power factor control
– 0-100% current control
– 0-100% generator voltage control
– Quadrature ovoltage droop for parallel operation
