Testing and classification
No matter what kind of major or minor repair was performed, the job is always finished with an extensive test. Our vision is that only a
complete test can guarantee a long and reliable operation of your generator or
motor. Moreover, it minimises the risk of premature failure or malfunctioning
after assembly on the site.
Completely tested
All conceivable tests are carried out at the test stand of EMRI. This allows 100% testing of the dynamic behaviour of the generator and motor, but in addition the generator or motor is tested under a wide variety of electrical conditions. After completion of the tests you receive a detailed report.

A few features of EMRI’s unique test facilities are:
- Full electrical loading up to a power of 3000kVA
- Low voltage and high voltage (up to 10kV)
- One or more generators / motors simultaneously
- Partial load, full load and overload
- Heat run tests
-Nominal rpm and overspeed (500rpm – 3000rpm)
- Testing of stand-alone and parallel operation
- Single and double bearing, ball bearing and plain bearing machines
- Acceptance by classification societies such as Lloyd’s, DNV, Bureau Veritas etc.
Our test stand is not only used for the repairs carried out by ourselves. We also make our test stand available to third parties. Furthermore, new generators for use on ships are tested by classification societies.
Classification
The testing facility developed by EMRI also offers the possibility to have generators and motors acceptance-tested at our test stand by classification societies such as Lloyds, DNV, ABS, Bureau Veritas, RINA, RMROS en CCS.
