The Solar boat team of the HAN (University of Arnhem and Nijmegen) finished in third place in the A class of the Dutch Solar Challenge 2016, held last weekend.

The Dutch Solar Challenge is an event of world class. A competition in which teams from around the world, mainly consisting of engineering students and innovative, durable businesses, battling to be named the best Solar boating team. Key component in this competition is the use of solar energy. By using innovative techniques the teams try to harness the power of the sun the most effectively and aim to continue sailing when the sun is blocked.

A few days before the start of the event, the participation of the HAN solar boat team was at risk. The team encountered problems with their electric motor. After contacting EMRI, we offered help to solve the issue in a timely manner. We’re happy for the opportunity to contribute to such a great project.

The HAN Solar boat shall also participate in the great prize of Monaco, the Solar1 Monte-Carlo Cup.
